Chrysanthemum flowers - Guldaudi flowers

Last week, we went to an exhibition of Chrysanthemum flowers in Jaipur. Locals call the flowers Guldaudi — it's said that people with surname Daud from Saudi Arabia used to trade these gul in the old times. Gul is an Urdu language word for flower.

The beauty of Chrysanthemum flowers is breathtaking; the photos I've published in this post will speak on behalf of these gorgeous flowers. Passing by each flower-pot, I was getting mesmerized more and more by the beauty. I hope, you will enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed noting the Chrysanthemum flowers on pixels.

  4. Beautiful. How are chrysanthemums valued in Indian culture? Are they associated with any specific festivals or events?

  5. They are amazing, Bhavesh. My friend, Joanne Olivieri, aka Poetic Shutterbug, go to a place in San Francisco, Sloat's Flower Shop, and just start snapping away. They have such beautiful flowers. Rarely do we buy anything! You got some great pictures at this flower show.

I hope to get to Pune soon.

  6. @ Clytie: I'm glad that you liked the photos of Chrysanthemum flowers. I must say that you have a keen eye; I didn't note the heart shape anywhere! And thank you for publishing the dog-eye with heart :)

@ Gardentina: I have no idea whether Chrysanthemums are valued in Indian culture :( Well, what I know, just as you, is that they are beautiful indeed! :)

@ RNSANE: Thank you Carmen! I will visit Joanne's Poetic Shutterbug. And you're very much invited to Pune :)

  7. Small world, Bhavesh...chatting with Megha, I find that Unseen Rajasthan is her brother and he and I have chatted late into the night. I've always loved his blog. He didn't realize I was RNSANE until we'd talked awhile. What a nice person and he thinks so highly of you but, of course, who doesn't, especially this California blogger ( now, briefly, an Indian blogger!! ). I am loving India..other than the traffic and mosquitoes ( they inspired me to write a poem ).
We will catch up before I leave India, that's for sure but I now understand why you are so busy right now.
