How To Make Knit Slippers

I recently visited Jen's Knitting Interrupted. She has many interesting posts, but a recent one I liked was on making slippers from knit or woven square. See step-by-step instruction photos below or visit her page named Woven Square Slippers. You may click on any photo to go to her page directly. What an amazing and easy idea, isn't it!?

Love Is In The Air, Love Is In Nature

I met this love-filled leaf on a treacherous patch climbing a hill in Pune. It said hi and allowed me to take its photo.

Isn't it spreading a good message?

Beautiful Natural Colors on way to Neelkantheshwar [Pune] — Blue Sky with Soft Clouds and Cut Mountain

Neelkantheshwar is a beautiful place, as mentioned in some of my past posts. See Panshet and Varasgaon — Twin Dams stunningly visible from Neelkantheshwar. But sadly, the mountain of Neelkantheshwar is being wounded for making a way to the hilltop, so that more visitors can come and visit Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. But have they thought that GOD doesn't need our visits; it needs our respect. By cutting off some parts of the mountain, we are actually insulting the GOD. Anyway, nature still shows the beauty; enjoy the beautiful natural colors in the photo showing pure blue of the sky, softness of the clouds and beauty of the rocks.

Brave Mouse with a Leopard, Photographed by Casey Gutteridge at Santago Rare Leopard Project, Hertfordshire [Email Forward]

Received this as an email forward…

This mouse playing with death when it tucked into the lunch of a hungry leopard.

Seemingly unaware of the beast towering over it, the mischievous rodent grabbed at scraps of meat thrown into the African Leopard's enclosure. But instead of pouncing on the tiny intruder, the 12-year-old leopard, called Sheena, appeared to be afraid of the daring mouse and kept her distance. At one stage she tried to nudge the mouse away with her nose, but the determined little chap carried on chewing away until he was full.

The extraordinary scene was captured by photography student Casey Gutteridge at the Santago Rare Leopard Project in Hertfordshire. The 19-year-old, from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, who was photographing the leopard for a course project, was astounded by the mouse's Behaviour. He said, "I have no idea where the mouse came from - he just appeared in the enclosure after the keeper had dropped in the meat for the leopard. He didn't take any notice of the leopard, just went straight over to the meat and started feeding himself. But the leopard was pretty surprised - she bent down and sniffed the mouse and flinched a bit like she was scared. In the meantime the mouse just carried on eating like nothing had happened."

...but even a gentle shove does not deter the little creature from getting his fill... "It was amazing, even the keeper who had thrown the meat into the enclosure was shocked - he said he'd never seen anything like it before." Project owner Jackie James added, "It was so funny to see - Sheena batted the mouse a couple of times to try to get it away from her food. But the determined little thing took no notice and just carried on..."

Sheena was brought in to the Santago Rare Leopard Project from a UK zoo when she was just four months old. She is one of 14 big cats in the private collection started by Jackie's late husband Peter in 1989. The African Leopard can be found in the continent's forests, grasslands, savannas, and rainforests.

...so the mouse continued to eat the leopard's lunch and show the leopard who was the boss!!!!!

Babu Sassi — Crane Operator of Burj Khalifa [Burj Dubai, برج خليفة‎, Khalifa Tower]

Remember my post named Burj Khalifa [Burj Dubai, برج خليفة‎, Khalifa Tower]? Ever wondered who worked on the top level crane of the highest tower of the world? I'm not sure if it's the truth, but in one of the email forwards I've received, it's mentioned that he's a lucky and fearless Indian named Babu Sassi. In that email, I've received a photo of the tower under construction showing the position of the crane. The view is just breathtaking leaving apart the controversy :) Enjoy the view.

Note: I don't claim copyright of the following photo.

Data Cards

Do you recall a time, when we used to give a pen drive to transfer a file to some other computer? No no, it's not so past, but there's an advanced tool that we prefer — internet. But to use internet in a speedy way, we need a good provider. Now-a-days, for internet on the go, we use data cards. Recent times have increased data card speeds with the technologies like 3G. India may be a bit late in receiving high speed data cards, but amazingly, new companies like Aircel have also started providing data cards. Thank God, we are with good resources now. We don't need pen drives, DVDs, CDs, floppies, etc. now :)
