Building a New Home

Roaming in the vast expanses of nature and wildlife, we learn so many new things and understand so much about the diversity of the natural world. What we mainly come to know, always, is that we are fools by believing that we are better than the other species. The fact is going to remain static that all the species, in comparison with human beings, are far more intelligent, capable and adapted. They don't dig mountains, create cement, create iron rods, burn soil to create bricks, etc. to build their dream home. They just use those simple and beautiful resources that nature has provided them in abundance in ready-to-use form. And what those species create is just amazing.

On my trip to the base of Sinhagad, I refreshed a feeling strongly present in me — the feeling of being able to get closer to the natural world, of being able to enjoy more of the other species' happiness than my own, of being in opposition to destroying some other species' home to create our own.

Scroll down if you want to get THAT feeling.

Build a New Home

I always feel guilty on the other side that I'm not completely out of those severe looters of the natural world.

  11. Hi Thérèse,

This nest is incomplete. Upon completion, there will be a separate block for the eggs I believe :)

  13. I also do not consider that we are "above" other species.

Trying to live respectfully with the other living creatures and even with the physical features of the world is, sadly, not embraced by very many people. And many times, as soon as convenience versus principle comes into the equation, principle is abandoned.

Your photography is as amazing as your insightful mind.
